Once we get your PandH Gearbox in our shop we instantly break it down and place all the parts and components into an industrial parts washer to wash away all the grime and grit and allow us to find the fault to more accurately quote the scope of work. Once approved we begin by repairing any and all damage to the shafts and housing. Repair or manufacture damage to gears and replace bearings by shrinking the shafts and placing super heated bearings on top allowing gravity to perform the installation.
Once your gearbox is repaired it is then placed on a six hour test bench to test for vibrations, Overheating and leaking as well as any other abnormalities. The P&H Gearboxes reputation of being the sole line of drilling and transmission services for the industry since 1984 is based on their attention to detail and quality of build on their equipment. PandH was purchased by Komatsu In Japan and the entire design (not including the name) is being kept alive through Komatasu which is continuing to provide the same service and the same product lines under a different name.
PandH Machinery started with Alonzo Pawling and Henry Harnischfeger (P and H ) starting a manufacturing company out of Milwaukee Wisconsin. Coming from a pattern maker and a locksmith machinist the two supplied industry with machinery components and repaired said components allowing them to grow and expand into the transmission service industry. P&H Gearboxes are utilized today across the international mining industry. The company began with electric mining shovels to load pit crushers and trucks following up with Drilling Rigs, Walking Draglines, And Pit Conveyor Systems P&H Gearboxes utilizing parallel shafts and epicyclic gearing they can push up to 450,000 ft-lbs of Torque.
