Our Gear Manufacturing Center can Manufacture any type and size of gear up to 20 Feet in diameter and we can even match the exact rockwell and brinell hardness as the OEMS. We can also manufacture all critical internal components needed like shafts and pinions. Your Westech Gearbox can be repaired 100 percent to OEM specifications and save you up to 60 percent compared to buying a brand new gearbox.
Once your gearbox makes it into our shop it is immediately taken apart and all parts are placed in an industrial parts washer to remove the grime allowing us to better determine the fault and overall cost to repair. We then send you your quote for free. If you dont like the quote we can put the gearbox back together exactly how we received it (but cleaner) and ship it back free of charge. If we are approved with the purchase order we immediately get to sandblasting the enclosure we then repair any damage to bearing seal areas or the enclosure if needed. We replace all bearings, shims and seals on every repair and also replace all gearing with OEM direct replacements or with manufactured gears depending on the customers budget or time frame. All bearings are installed using the Timken Certified method of shrinking the shafts with liquid nitrogen before placing a super heated bearing on top allowing for gravity to perform the installation.
Once your gearbox is completely reassembled it is then coated in a temperature resistant polymer designed to reduce vibration and overheating. Your Westech Gearbox is then placed on a custom built test bench allowing us to test the gearbox for vibrations, overheating, leaking or other abnormalities. The company also designed and manufactured gearing for transferring power throughout all major industries. The Western Gear company was eventually sold off in the 1980�s and was eventually rebranded into the Westech Gear Drives. The Philadelphia Gear Company went to acquire Westech Gear company which also allowed Timken to expand the customer base of Westech Gear Drives by expanding their portfolio of gearbox manufacturing.
