The Lufkin Foundry and Machine Company was founded by 5 Louisiana and Texan Lumber workers who were tasked with producing a shop to repair sawmill machines. The company would eventually grow and expand its operations to begin manufacturing Sawing Machinery. The Lufkin COmpany would produce locomotive and industrial machinery throughout both World Wars thanks to the procurement act. Lufkin has manufactured gearing for apcs, tanks, landing and engine parts for air craft. The United States Military even honored the Lufkin Foundry with a Navy E Award and 3 Starts for its efforts in producing excellence for the first World War.
The Lufkin Foundry would later move to grow its production and manufacturing lines allowing 3 divisions to exist and focus on Machinery, Trailer and Automotive Technology. Lufkin Gearboxes were originally used by the lumber and saw mill industry for their Right Angle Conveyor based system. High torque and small footprint allowed Lufkin Gearboxes to fit into any aet up. Lufkin also developed fully automated hydraulic pump units used to extract natural gas in the oil and gas industry.
